Icon treatment is carried out step by step over multiple visits. For successful results, prior whitening and treatment at the appropriate timing are important. Below is the standard treatment process at our clinic.
Standard Treatment Process
(4+ Visits)
1st Visit: Initial Consultation and Examination
We take X-rays and perform an oral examination to assess the condition and type of white spot lesions.
Photographs and other records are taken as needed, and we explain the treatment plan and possible risks.
If you agree to proceed with Icon treatment, we will also take impressions for home whitening trays.
2nd Visit: Professional Teeth Cleaning and Start of Home Whitening
Prior to Icon treatment, you will perform home whitening to balance the overall shade of your teeth.
Before starting home whitening, we perform a professional cleaning and provide instructions on how to use the whitening kit and important precautions.
3rd Visit: Icon Treatment or Whitening Progress Check
After continuing whitening for about two weeks to one month, Icon treatment is performed once the tooth shade is balanced.
*Depending on the situation, this visit may only involve a “check-up” to confirm the effects of the whitening.
4th Visit: Post-Treatment Check and Application of Protective Agent
You will return to the clinic one to two weeks after the Icon procedure for a follow-up and final finishing.
A protective agent is applied to the tooth surfaces for finishing and to protect the enamel.

For patients traveling from a distance or those who wish to complete treatment in a single day due to scheduling reasons, we offer same-day Icon treatment subject to certain conditions.*
Preliminary Consultation via Email
Before visiting the clinic, a preliminary consultation is conducted via email.
We assess the condition of your teeth and the extent of the white spots through photographs to make a preliminary determination of Icon treatment suitability.

Home Whitening at a Local Dental Clinic
To enhance the results of Icon treatment, you will be asked to perform “home whitening” at a local dental clinic near your residence before visiting us.
Photos are taken before and after whitening, and once the tooth shade is balanced, we decide the timing of your visit.
Visit and Icon Treatment
We ask you to visit our clinic at this point to directly examine your teeth and proceed with Icon treatment.
If the actual condition differs from the photo assessment, additional explanations regarding the risks may be provided.
Treatment time varies from 1 to 3.5 hours depending on the number of teeth treated.
